Welcome to Heartline Gems.

My husband has always called me ‘Herzi’ or ‘Herzilein’ (pronounced “hairt~si~line”), an affectionate take on the German word “Herz” meaning heart (therefore ‘heart’ or ‘little heart’). So, my original name for the website was ‘Herzi Line’. Eventually, for simplicity, that got broken down to “Heartline Gems” since each piece I create is straight from my heart, is a one-of-a-kind piece and made with natural beads, gems, crystals, sterling silver or gold. The idea of a website was born from my desire to share these pieces with you.

CARING FOR YOUR PIECES

All pieces will consist of some or all of the following materials:

• Pearls
• Swarovski Crystals
• Gemstones
• Natural beads
• Handblown glass beads
• Murano glass

Findings are usually Sterling Silver, silver-plated, Gold or Gold-filled.  Some glass is handmade by local artisans such as Glitz and Glass. See more at www.glitzandglass.com

It is therefore very important that they be carefully cleaned. Soft white cloth such as cotton or felt, should be dampened and used to gently wipe the piece.

Do not use jewelry cleaner on pearls or gemstones, you will ruin them. All silver/gold pieces or clasps may be wiped with a clean rag dampened with a little jewellery cleaner. However, I personally think some pieces look greater as they develop a bit of patina over time.

Each purchase will have the make-up of the piece, such as the name of the stones and care instructions, enclosed.

The Metaphysical Aspect.

Since gemstones are used in the construction of the majority of my pieces, I thought it would be interesting and fun for you to know something about the properties these stones are said to have.  After all, they are mined from minerals that have been in existence for thousands, maybe millions of years. Who’s to say they have no physical properties.  Well, just in case you agree, I have repeated some of the information I have found in the research, in the description of some of the pieces you will find on the website.
